Therapy can help if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, stress, grief, or patterns in your life that you would like to understand and change. An initial consultation can help determine whether therapy is likely to be beneficial for your needs.
The first session is an opportunity to discuss your concerns, personal history, current difficulties, and goals for therapy. Together, we will explore what has brought you to therapy and consider the most appropriate therapeutic approach.
The number of sessions varies depending on your needs, goals, and circumstances. Some people benefit from short-term therapy focused on a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term work to address more complex or longstanding difficulties.
Therapy may include approaches such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
- Integrative psychological approaches
The therapeutic approach will be discussed and tailored to your individual needs.
CBT focuses on understanding and changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. EMDR is commonly used to process traumatic or distressing memories. CAT focuses on understanding patterns in relationships and how early experiences may influence current difficulties.
